It’s true that some songs don’t just touch you
These ones end up revealing you to you
Surfacing emotions waiting to overflow
Consciously hidden deep, stinging sorrow
Isn’t this girl braver than you?

Shedding her layers
With her conscience as her sole anchor
What could be more alive than this truth?
No excuses, no lies, no guilt to sooth
Isn’t this girl less convoluted than you?

As the melody touches your soul
You don’t need another to console
Why use songs to reach this state?
This honesty is surely innate
Then why not be this girl, than you?
